The brief

The Old West Museum wanted to give the people in its Hall of Fame a richer digital presence. The initial brief described a directory of roughly 150 members, with individual biographies, photographs and the possibility of interview video.

The experience had to be useful to people exploring from home and appropriate for a museum audience that includes older visitors. Navigation, readability and the way stories were organized mattered as much as the number of profiles.

How we approached it

Digital by DG designed and developed the Hall of Fame website in Wix Studio, with CMS-managed member content and a consistent profile experience. The responsive site lets visitors move from the archive into the people and stories behind it.

The project also involved coordinating around the museum’s plan to display the website on a touchscreen kiosk. We discussed viewport requirements with the display supplier so the web experience could be considered in the context of the exhibit. The site remained manageable for the museum’s content updates after launch.

What the work made possible

The Hall of Fame became a digital resource people can explore on different devices, with a clearer path into its member stories. The museum can continue maintaining profile content through the CMS.

In a public review, the client specifically praised the care given to an older audience and the ability to view members’ stories from anywhere. The project showcases a thoughtful archive experience, rather than a generic brochure website.

“Working with Dillon, Jaden, and Anthony was a real treat. They helped the museum's ideas come to fruition in the least painful way possible. They helped finalize our ideas into something better than we could have imagined. They helped us honor our past hall of fame members so that they can be viewed by anyone, anywhere, on any device. Additionally, they took special care when designing our site with an older generation in mind. Navigation, aesthetic, and flow are perfect for all ages.”
