The DG behind the digital

A life outdoors. A mind for the details.

Dillon’s route into digital started outdoors. Professional skiing took him into competitions, productions and brand partnerships, including work as a Ski Utah athlete. It also gave him a useful view of marketing: the strongest work comes from understanding the people and the experience you're trying to represent.

Before building websites and co-founding Cache, Dillon worked as a Trailwalker with the ANASAZI Foundation in Arizona. He led extended wilderness experiences and taught practical outdoor skills. It was work that called for clear communication, close attention and responsibility for the people around him.

That view carried into digital. At Discrete Clothing and Weld, Dillon worked across ecommerce, brand development, websites, photography, video, email and national social channels. His earlier work included Scouting programs and outdoor brands, often bringing several teams and disciplines together around one project.

He also co-founded Cache with his brother, developing an outdoor gear company around the Basecamp tailgate system. Building a product and taking it to market gave him a perspective a website brief alone can't provide: decisions have to make sense for the business, the customer and the people doing the work.

Digital by DG brings those experiences together. Today, Dillon leads a small team across brand design, Wix Studio and Headless development, content production and ongoing marketing. The projects range from national recruitment campaigns to local service businesses, from destination websites to custom portals that make a client's day easier.

He is still personally involved, still comfortable getting into the code and still interested in what happens after launch. A polished website matters. So does the inquiry reaching the right person, the client being able to change their content and the next marketing decision being based on something useful.

A mark with a history

The original Digital by DG logo is personal. It connects to the name Dillon carried at ANASAZI: Golden Phoenix Heart in the Morning Sun. The phoenix remains at the center of the brand because the story behind it matters.

An approach to the work

Understand the business first

The right answer starts with what the business needs, who it serves and where the current experience gets in the way.

Take responsibility for the details

Design, development, content and marketing have to work together. We stay involved through the handoffs.

Make the work usable

Your website should help your customers and make sense to the team managing it.
